I thought I’d share a few photos from a September wedding held at Charter Oak Country Club in Hudson, MA. I helped Lindsay from Something Sweet by Michelle deliver the beautiful wedding cake. The cake was 4 white fondant covered tiers with climbing vines of cymbidium orchids. It was amazing how the late afternoon sunlight coming in behind the cake through the windows in the ballroom made the orchids glow and almost appear translucent. Orchids seemed to be a trend with many of the cakes I helped deliver this summer. There were two mouthwatering cake flavors: Chocolate Fudge Cake filled with chocolate truffle ganache and drizzled with warm pecan caramel and Almond Brown Butter Cake filled with caramel and caramel butter cream. I’ve tried both and they are absolutely delicious!
Here’s a few photographs of the table centerpieces and other details. The centerpieces featured warm red, orange, and deep purple/burgundy flowers as well as berries, greens and branches. They chose to alternate both tall and short centerpieces throughout the ballroom. The colors worked very well with the sage walls and dark wood/green upholstered chairs in the room. Their paper goods (menus, table numbers, etc…) all incorporated a vine design done in a shade of claret.
